The Moncton Wildcats picked up a 7-3 win over the Halifax Mooseheads Friday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
Mika Cyr put Moncton on the board midway through the opening frame to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes.
The Wildcats scored four straight in the second period as Axel Andersson, Elliot Desnoyers, Zachary L'Heureux and former Moosehead Benoit-Olivier Groulx all found the back of Halifax's net.
Samuel Dube and Denis Toner answered back for the Herd to bring them within three goals after 40 minutes.
Kevin Gursoy built off that momentum with his 12th goal of the season.
Cyr responded with his second of the evening to extend Moncton's lead once again.
Gabriel Fortier added another tally to make it a 7-3 final in Moncton's favour.
The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday when they welcome the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
