Wildcats pick up 5-1 win over Mooseheads

The Moncton Wildcats dropped the Halifax Mooseheads 5-1 Sunday at the Scotiabank Centre.

Former Moosehead Benoit-Olivier Groulx opened up the scoring, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes

Mika Cyr, Alexander Khovanov and Gabriel Fortier extended Moncton's lead in the second period.

Denis Toner put Halifax on the board but former Moosehead Jared McIsaac answered back to make it 5-1 after two periods.

The Wildcats held on to their lead in the final period, on route to a 5-1 victory.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Rimouski on Friday to take on the Oceanic.
