The Moncton Wildcats topped the Halifax Mooseheads 4-2 Saturday night at the Scotiabank Centre.

Jeremy McKenna and  Alexander Khovanov gave Moncton an early 2-0 lead in the opening frame.

Max Trepanier eventually responded for the Herd to cut Moncton's lead in half.

Isaac Wilson restored the Wildcat's two goal lead to make it 3-1 heading into the final period.

Zachary L'Heureux extended Moncton's lead in the third period with Senna Peeters answering back to make it 4-2.

But it wasn't enough as the Wildcats skated away with the win.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Bathurst next week to take on the Titan.
