HALIFAX - The Saint John Sea Dogs fended off a late comeback from the Halifax Mooseheads to win 4-3 Saturday night.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Sea Dogs took a 3-0 lead as Ben Badalamenti, Julian Vander Voet and William Villeneuve each found the back of Alex Gravel's net.

Raphael Lavoie answered back for the heard late in the second period to bring the Herd within two heading into the third.

Max Trepanier added to the Herd's tally, making it a one goal game early in the third period.

Senna Peeters eventually struck on a power play to tie things up but Matt Gould quickly responded with a short-handed goal to give Saint John the 4-3 win.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre next Friday when they welcome the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
