The Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 6-4 Tuesday afternoon at the Scotiabank Centre.

The Herd had a great opening period as Jeffrey Burridge and D'Artagnan Joly put them up 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The Sea Dogs responded in the second period with Jeffrey Durocher netting a pair of goals while Charles Savoie and Jordan Spadafore each added tallies to make it 4-2 Saint John.

Brady Burns extended Saint John's lead but not long before Senna Peeters and Zack Jones brought the Herd within one.

Durocher eventually completed the hat-trick with an empty netter to seal the deal for the Sea Dogs.

The Mooseheads welcome the Moncton Wildcats on Friday for their first game of 2020.
