The Acadie-Bathurst Titan put pressure on Mooseheads goaltender Cole McLaren in the final frame and overtime, but the Herd were able to pull out a thrilling 4-3 victory in a game that featured a highlight reel goal.
The Mooseheads opened the game with a goal just over two minutes into the first period with Justin Barron netting his third of the season.
Just over three minutes later, Max Trepanier scored a power play goal, sending Halifax to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead.
Late in the second, Bo Groulx scored an impressive between the legs goal, giving Halifax a 3-0 advantage.
Noah Delemont scored late in the second and Anderson MacDonald put Acadie-Bathurst within one goal.
With the Titan goaltender pulled, Remy Anglehart tied the game with 12 seconds left in the third, forcing the game to overtime.
A back-and-forth overtime frame ended with Senna Peeters scoring his ninth of the season, helping the Mooseheads snap a five game losing streak on home ice.
The Herd will now prepare for a three game road trip that sends Halifax to face Blaineville-Boisbriand on Wednesday night.
