HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads topped the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-5 in a high scoring affair on Thursday night.

The opening period saw Max Trepanier and Walter Flower net a pair for the Herd while Joshua Roy and Ben Badalamenti found the back of Halifax's net to make it 2-2 after 20 minutes.

Badalamenti scored his second of the evening with Charlie DesRoches following up to give the Sea Dogs a two goal lead.

Justin Barron responded near the end of the second to bring the Herd within one.

Senna Peeters tied it up for Halifax early in the third period with Trepanier following up to give them a 5-4 lead.

Peeters scored shortly after Jeremie Poirier answering back.

But it wasn't enough as Halifax held on to win 6-5.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Moncton to take on the Wildcats.
