Mooseheads losing streak continues with 5-1 loss to Eagles

Shawn Element completed the hat-trick to help lead Cape Breton to victory

The Halifax Mooseheads losing streak extends to eight straight games after falling 5-1 to the Cape Breton Eagles Saturday night.

Senna Peeters gave the Mooseheads a 1-0 lead near the end of the first period.

Shawn Element scored twice in the second period to give Cape Breton a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Nathan Larose extended the Eagles' lead on a power play with Element completing the hat trick a short time later.

Logan Camp added one more to Cape Breton's tally to make it a 5-1 final.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Charlottetown to take on the Islanders on Tuesday
