Mooseheads' losing streak continues with 5-0 shutout loss to Islanders

The Charlottetown Islanders handed the Halifax Mooseheads their fourth straight loss, topping the Herd 5-0 Friday night in a shutout.

The Islanders drew first blood as Noah Laaouan found the back of the Halifax's net to make it 1-0.

Cedric Desruisseaux and Thomas Casey scored later to extend Charlottetown's lead to 3-0.

Desruisseaux netted his second of the evening in the second period to make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.

Casey scored his second of the evening in the final period to make it a 5-0 final in the Islander's favour.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday when they welcome the Saint John Sea Dogs.
