The Shawinigan Cataractes scored four goals in the final period on route to a 7-4 win over the Halifax Mooseheads Saturday night.

Senna Peeters opened up the scoring and got the Herd on the board late in the first period but former Moosehead Max Trepanier responded to tie things up after 20 minutes.

Xavier Bourgault scored quickly in the second period but Denis Toner and Zack Jones answered back for the Herd to give Halifax a 3-2 lead.

Mavrik Bourque scored for Shawinigan to make it 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Bourque, Bourgault and Trepanier each netted their second goals of the evening early in the third to give the Cataractes a 6-3 lead.

Olivier Nadeau added another tally for Shawinigan.

Peeters answered back with his second of the evening, but it wasn't enough as the Cataractes skated away with a 7-4 win.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Tuesday when they welcome the Charlottetown Islanders.
