Mooseheads edge out Islanders 5-4

Elliot Desnoyers scored four times to lead the Mooseheads to victory

The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Charlottetown Islanders 5-4 on Friday night.

Elliot Desnoyers had a strong showing in the first period, scoring twice to give the Herd a 2-0 lead.

Brett Budgell put the Islanders on the board early in the second. Lukas Cormier and Drew Elliott added two more to give Charlottetown its first lead of the night.

Desnoyers completed the hat trick late in the second period.

William Robitaille scored his first QMJHL goal to put the Herd back on top 4-3.

Cedric Desruisseaux tied things up once again but Desnoyers scored his fourth goal of the evening to win the game for the Mooseheads.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday when they welcome the Saint John Sea Dogs.
