Mooseheads defeat Olympiques 4-3 in OT

HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 4-3 in overtime on Thursday night.

Gatineau drew first blood as Zachary Dean potted 12th of the season in the opening frame.

Alexandre David eventually tied things up for the Herd in the second period.

Evan MacKinnon gave the Olympiques a 2-1 lead early in the third period but Kevin Gursoy answered back to keep it tied at 2-2.

Gursoy scored his second of the evening to give Halifax a 3-2 lead.

Mathieu Bizier eventually tied it back up forcing overtime where Cameron Whynot scored the game winner for the Mooseheads.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Moncton on Saturday to take on the Wildcats.
