Halifax Mooseheads' defenceman Justin Barron will be out of the lineup indefinitely after being diagnosed with a blood clot.

The team says there's no timetable for the 18-year-old's return to action.

Last season, the Herd's Samuel Dube was sidelined for over three months after a blood clot diagnosis.

Barron is considered a top prospect for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. With an "A" ranking, it's thought the Halifax native could be a first-round pick in June.
