SYDNEY -  The Cape Breton Eagles came back from a poor outing Friday night in Halifax to defeat the Mooseheads in Sydney 5-1 on Saturday night.

Penalty trouble in the first period set the Mooseheads behind early, with Halifax struggling to generate many chances early on.

Derek Gentile and Egor Sokolov scored on the powerplay later in the first period to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

An even strength goal from Mathias Laferrière set Halifax behind the 8-ball before Raphaël Lavoie gat Halifax on the board midway through the second.

A goal from Shawn Boudrias in the second and third sealed the deal for the Eagles as they defeated Halifax 5-1.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Charlottetown on Wednesday night looking to get back in the win column.
