Islanders defeat Mooseheads 9-4 in their final faceoff this season

Saturday night's game marked the end of the season for the Halifax Mooseheads, while the Islanders will advance to the playoffs

The Halifax Mooseheads hit the ice at the Scotiabank Centre for the final time of the 2020-21 season on Saturday night, losing 9-4 against the Charlottetown Islanders. 

This is the 19th game between the two teams this season. 

Cédric Desruisseaux scored the Islander's first goal seven minutes into the first period which was followed shortly by a goal from Ryan Maynard.

Ethan Landry put the Mooseheads on the board at the end of the first period. 

Thomas Casey, Brett Budgell, Sam Oliver, and Ben Boyd, all scored for the Islanders in the second period. 

Justin Barron and Ethan Landry were behind goals for the Mooseheads. 

In the third period, the Islander's Bailey Peach, Patrick Guay, and Cédric Desruisseauxn scored.  

Senna Peeters scored the Moosheads' fourth and final goal of the night. 

The three New Brunswick-based teams will play in a nine-game round-robin tournament with the winner facing off against the Charlottetown Islanders in the Maritimes Division final.
