The Halifax Mooseheads is rescheduling two upcoming games due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

"Although Public Health Officials have not recommended we need to take further action, The Mooseheads are operating under an extreme abundance of caution and have decided to postpone tonight’s home game against Charlottetown as well as Wednesday’s home game vs. Cape Breton," says a news release. "As always, the health and safety of our fans, players and staff are of the utmost importance."

The employee did not come in contact with any players or hockey staff.

The league issued a message to the Halifax Mooseheads' executives which outlined some steps to take in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

The message said players and staff will now self-monitor, members of the organization who have been in contact with the infected employee will be tested and that public health has been contacted and is investigating the situation.

Public health is exploring all possible contacts between staff and players. Any additional findings will be shared with the team and league.

The Halifax Mooseheads will announce rescheduled dates in the next few days.

Those who have purchased tickets for these games can use their ticket for admission to the rescheduled games or receive a full refund or exchange by calling Ticket Atlantic at 902-451-1221.
