The Cape Breton Eagles won back the Hurley Cup on Sunday, defeating the Halifax Mooseheads 5-3.

The Eagles struck first as Derek Gentile gave Cape Breton a 1-0 lead early in the opening frame.

Zack Jones evened things up for the Herd in the second period but not long before Felix Lafrance and Liam Kidney extended Cape Breton's lead to 3-1.

Kevin Gursoy brought Halifax within one early in the third period but Nathan Larose answered back to give the Eagles a two goal lead.

Jordan McKenna again brought the Herd within one but Cape Breton answered right back to make it a 5-3 final.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Tuesday for their last game of the decade where they'll take on the Saint John Sea Dogs.
