Charges are pending against a 15-year-old girl after a hit-and-run in Cole Harbour Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP say a witness saw a female driver hit two parked cars on Colby Dr. at around 2:30 p.m.

The caller was able to give a description of the driver, the make, model and colour of the suspect vehicle, and the direction of travel.

Officers pulled a vehicle over on Greenwich Dr. and arrested the driver.

Police say the Cole Harbour teen didn't have a driver's license and didn't have permission to be driving the vehicle involved.

Mounties have released her into her parents' custody and say their investigation is ongoing.

"License plate numbers and descriptions of a driver and vehicle can assist in investigations," say RCMP in a news release. "Residents are asked to record this information if it is safe to do so, should they see a crime happening."
