RCMP have fined two men from the Halifax Regional Municipality under the province's Health Protection Act.

On Saturday afternoon, Mounties were told four men from HRM were at a property in Labelle.

When officers arrived two of the men returned to HRM but police say the other two refused to leave.

The 38-year-old and 39-year-old were charged with non-essential travel outside of their municipality.

"We all need to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19," Mounties said.

"The RCMP would like to thank Nova Scotians for their continued support, and express appreciation to the vast majority who are adhering to the directives outlined by the provincial government."
