Two people have been arrested after a gas station robbery on Saturday night.

Halifax Regional Police say two men went into the Irving on Robie Street at around 11:30 p.m.

They say the pair assaulted an employee then left with cash and cigarettes.

The staff member was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

When officers arrived, they arrested suspects in the area.

Scott Lawrence Dupperon, 31, and Joseph Bernard Sebastien Laporte, 33, are scheduled to appear in court today to face robbery charges.
