Halifax Regional Police say two men have been arrested, with charges pending following an assault on Thursday night.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., police were called to the corner of Quinpool Rd. and Oxford Street after reports of a male being armed with a knife.

Police say two men, not known to one another got into an argument at a bus stop.

The argument turned physical, and a man stabbed the other male in the hand with a knife.

While the man with a knife was holding down the male, another man approached and punched the victim.

Officers say the 27 year old male victim was taken to hospital and has since been released.

The 25 year old male and 51 year old male were taken to custody, with charges expected to be laid.
