A 26-year-old Middle Sackville man is facing charges after RCMP say he refused to stop for police.

An officer tried to pull over a pickup truck with a burned out headlight just after midnight Sunday on Beaver Bank Rd.

Mounties say the driver turned into a driveway and left the truck running while he got out and ran into the woods.

Police say drugs were found in the truck and they called in a K9 unit to help search for a suspect.

When an off-duty Mountie saw a suspect running through a backyard, the officer chased after him and saw him climb up a tree.

The suspect was soon arrested and is now facing charges of flight from police, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and obstruction.
