Halifax District RCMP investigates five alcohol-related incidents between 6 p.m. August 9 and 1 a.m. on August 11. Police would like to thank the public for calling to report possible impaired drivers, which was the case in two of the incidents. 

At 6:15 p.m., on August 9, Halifax District RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Baker’s Drive in Dartmouth.  The driver, a 53–year-old man from Dartmouth was issued a seven-day suspension following a Roadside Screening Device Test.

At 7: 40 p.m. on August 9, RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Hammonds Plains Rd. Police located the driver, a 51-year-old man from Hammonds Plains who was arrested for impaired driving.  He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg% and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on October 21.

Just before 1 a.m. on August 10, an RCMP member was approached by a motorist advising of a possible impaired driver on Sackville Dr. Police located the driver, a 55–year-old man from Upper Sackville, who was arrested for impaired driving.  He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg% and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 21.

At 2 a.m. on August 10, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Tacoma Dr. in Dartmouth.  Investigation at the scene resulted in the 26-year-old driver from East Preston being arrested for impaired driving.  He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg% and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Sept 25.

Just after midnight on August 11, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville. The driver, a 28–year-old woman from Lower Sackville was issued a seven-day suspension following a Roadside Screening Device Test.
