RCMP are investigating the potential attempted abduction of a young child in Cumberland County Thursday.

Just before 8 p.m., Mounties were told a man may have tried to lure a three-year-old into his car on Valley Rd. near Springhill.

Police say the child and two others were playing in a yard when the mother spotted a vehicle pull over near the kids.

It appeared the driver yelled for one of the children to get in his car.

The kids ran to the house and the vehicle was last seen heading in the direction of Springhill.

The driver is described as a man in his 40s with a clean-cut appearance and a raspy voice.

There may have been a passenger with him in the car.

The vehicle is described as an older model silver or beige Chevrolet Cruze.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumberland District RCMP at 902-597-3779 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
