Halifax Regional Police (HRP) is currently investigating a possible weapons matter in the city.
Just after 2:10 p.m., a person travelling toward Halifax on Highway 111 in Dartmouth reported seeing two black cars driving next to each other. It was reported that a person from one of the cars appeared to have shot a firearm at the other vehicle, possibly striking it.
Both vehicles were last seen on the MacKay bridge travelling into Halifax.
"There are no reported injuries at this time and police are on-scene searching for the vehicles and their occupants," a news release said. "There is no ongoing risk to the public."
The investigation is currently in its early stages. HRP says further information will be released if and when it's available.
