Youth facing charges after police find incendiary devices during suspicious fire investigation (update)

A male youth has been arrested in the suspicious fire investigation

Some residences in the Spryfield area were evacuated as Halifax Regional Police investigated a suspicious fire Monday.

Emergency crews were called to McIntosh Street at around 10:15 a.m. to extinguish a structure fire.

Investigators found incendiary devices on the property and a male youth was been arrested.

He's been charged with the following:

 

  • Possession of explosive devices 
  • Mischief 
  • Arson with disregard to human life 
  • Arson causing damage to property
