A lot of people living in a Lower Sackville neighbourhood woke up Wednesday to find items missing from their vehicles, and one found their vehicle missing.

A white 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen from a Tamarack Circ. home, either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

RCMP say it had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

Police also received reports of items being stolen from nine unlocked vehicles in that area, on Aspen Cres., Alder Cres., Balsam Circ., and Tamarack Circ. A Kate Spade wallet, three pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses, loose change, a cellphone charger and a Blackberry all went missing.

At around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were able to track down the stolen car on Seawood Ave. after a neighbour reported it suspiciously parked on a lawn.

A witness saw two men inside the vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. that morning, and described them as white and in their 20s. One has a moustache and was wearing a red vest. The other has short hair and was wearing a dark coloured shirt and pants.

RCMP say closing windows, locking doors, removing valuables and reporting suspicious activity can reduce thefts.

"It's awful to learn that someone has stolen from you," says Cpl. Lisa Croteau in a news release. "We feel for victims of theft who have had their privacy violated and have lost meaningful items."

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
