Man and woman from PEI arrested for firearm offences in Amherst

Amherst RCMP have seized a firearm and arrested two people following a vehicle stop on Thursday. Mounties say after 10:00 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was spotted by RCMP in a parking lot, and the vehicle description did not match the license plate.

Amherst RCMP have seized a firearm and arrested two people following a vehicle stop on Thursday.

Mounties say after 10:00 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was spotted by RCMP in a parking lot, and the vehicle description did not match the license plate.

According to RCMP, the driver did not have a valid license, and a loaded handgun was discovered in the vehicle.

The male driver and female passenger were arrested without incident.

46 year old Steven Wallace Frizzell of Summerside PEI, is charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Firearm with the Serial Number Removed, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.

Trudy Lynn McKibbon, 32, of Kensington, PEI, is charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Identity Fraud, Possession of a Firearm with the Serial Number Removed, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition.

both appeared in Amherst Provincial Court Friday and will appear again in November.
