RCMP say they've identified human remains found on a beach in Digby County last fall.

The body was found on at Sandy Cove Beach just after 9 a.m. on September 8.

Forensic sculpture students at a New York Academy of Arts used a 3D scan of the man's skull to reconstruct his face, and RCMP released photos of his clothing to help identify him.

However, Mounties say it was DNA analysis that helped investigators determine the deceased is a 43-year-old man from Saint John.

The man had been reported missing late last summer. No other information about him has been released.

Police say the circumstances of his death are not considered suspicious.
