Hammonds Plains man charged with stunting

HRP's traffic unit also issued 21 tickets for speeding Thursday, along with 32 for other offences

A Hammonds Plains man has been handed a hefty fine after being charged with stunting Thursday.

Halifax Regional Police pulled the man over at around 7 a.m. on Highway 102 near Bayers Road after an officer captured his vehicle's speed at 116 km/h in the 50 km/h zone.

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50.

In addition, the 34-year-old's licence was suspended for a week and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

HRP's traffic unit also issued 21 tickets for speeding Thursday, along with 32 for other offences, including no insurance, expired plates, failing to change lanes, tinted windows, using cell phones and speeding in a construction zone.
