Halifax woman facing several charges in fraud investigation

A Halifax woman is facing several charges in a fraud investigation.

Investigators with Halifax Regional Police believe stolen cheques were used for multiple fraudulent transactions in Halifax and Dartmouth over a 6 month period.

They say the incidents started in December and were first reported on January 16.

After releasing photos, police were able to identify and arrest a suspect.

Sherri Jean Lee Clarke, 36, has been charged with 11 counts of fraud under $5,000, 11 counts of uttering forged documents, transportation fraud, possession of stolen property and breach of undertaking.

Police are still investigating and say additional charges are anticipated.
