Halifax Regional Police Officer faces theft charges

Officer is suspended with pay after being released on an appearance notice

Today, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) received a report regarding a theft involving an HRP officer in Halifax.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 13, police received a report of a theft that had just occurred at a business.

The officer was arrested and released this evening on an appearance notice. The officer has been suspended with pay in accordance with the Nova Scotia Police Act. 

The investigation is currently ongoing, and there are no further updates at this time.
