First date gone bad; attempted robbery foiled by Halifax Police

Halifax Police are investigating a Saturday night robbery in Dartmouth involving a first date and attempted robbery.

According to police, a man was meeting a female for a first date in a park located in Woodlawn.

The male sat down and chatted with a female before another male approached.

The suspect male told the victim to hand over his wallet and phone or else he would be stabbed.

The victim ran toward a police car patrolling the area with the suspects in tow, before the male and female ran back to the park.

Officers located a 20-year-old female and 21-year-old male inside a residence, both of whom have been charged and will appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
