Fires at Lower Sackville apartment building thought to be arson

RCMP say arson is to blame for fires at an apartment building in Lower Sackville.

Emergency crews were called to the building on Cobequid Rd. at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When firefighters arrived they found two separate fires and extinguished them.

Around 50 to 60 residents had to be evacuated, but no one was hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
