A 51-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning involving an ambulance.

RCMP say he was driving westbound on Highway 101 near Kentville when he lost control and collided with an eastbound ambulance at around 8 a.m.

A freezing rain warning was in effect at the time.

A spokesperson for EHS, Remo Zaccagna, said the paramedics were taken to a local hospital as a precaution and have since been released.

Police are still investigating.
