A man is facing impaired driving charges after a police cruiser was nearly struck by another vehicle in Dartmouth Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Roleika Drive at around 10:15 p.m.

While pulling into a parking lot, Halifax Regional Police say the cruiser was almost hit by a speeding car.

Police followed the driver to Kennedy Drive, when they say the car stopped and two people got out, then ran off.

The pair were quickly arrested.

In addition to impaired driving offences, a 29-year-old Dartmouth man is also facing charges of flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
