An young man from Cow Bay is facing several charges after homes were broken into in Fletchers Lake.

A woman called RCMP just before 9 a.m. Tuesday after a man came to her door on Brook Street. He told her he had been out jogging and asked to use a bathroom.

After she refused to let him in, police say he left, then came back and tried to break in.

The responding officer started asking neighbours if they had spotted anyone matching the suspect's description.

One man reported he saw the suspect in the driveway of another home, and when the officer went to check it out, RCMP say the suspect was inside.

Police say the suspect tried to run, but he didn't get far.

According to Mounties, the suspect had a some items on him from two other homes on Brook Street.

Declan Robichaud, 18, has been charged with two counts of break, enter and commit, two counts of break and enter with intent, two counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.
