It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Erville Ripley of Fenwick NS announce his passing ‘’ in his 92nd year ‘’ on Wednesday September 12, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Fenwick, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Percy E and Evelyn A. (Boomer) Ripley.
Robert will be remembered by many of his friends at McDonalds in Amherst, where he spent every day chatting and enjoying quality time. Robert was always very mechanically inclined, his careers reflected his ability to repair anything. After retiring his love of carpentry was filled with spending many hours working on many projects and repairs for family and friends. Robert was a member of the Knights of Pythias, volunteer and supporter at various church functions.
Robert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Debbie (Robert) McKillop, Boundary Creek NB, Joanne (Jack) Menzies Fredericton NB, Kim Ripley and Todd (Karrie) Ripley, both of Fenwick NS; beloved grandchildren, Sean, Angela, Daniel, Michelle, Krista, Terran, Kevin, Tammy, Nicole, Cari, Nicholas and Kristen; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Read all of Amherst and Phyllis (Arthur) Lowe, Ontario and brother, Donald (Mary) Ripley of Fenwick; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, R. Eileen (Northrup) and his first wife Joan L. Porter; children, Peggy Richard, and Terry Ripley; grandson in infancy, Justin Ripley, Brother Walter A. Ripley and sisters Olive Porter, Helen Bacon and son in law David Richard.
Visitation will take place Friday September 14, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00pm in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St, Amherst (855) 249-5513. A funeral service to honor the life of Robert will be held Saturday September 15, 2018 at 1:00pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Woods officiating with reception to follow in the front rooms of the funeral home.
Interment will take place following the funeral service at the Fenwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Fenwick Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
