Hinckley, Douglas “Bruce”, 85, of the Villa St. Joseph du Lac, passed away peacefully April 12, 2018 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Albany, New York, September 16, 1932 he was the son of the late Douglas and Anna (Mosall) Hinckley. Bruce and Barbara along with their 3 sons moved from New Jersey to Yarmouth in 1971. He started his own business Metro Maintenance Company where he served many Yarmouth businesses. Bruce enjoyed camping at Keji, a good round of golf and going to Tim Horton’s with Barbara, among many things. He was a member of the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church. He was a loving father to his sons Gary (Karen), Overton ; Stephen (deceased); Randy (Camille), Albany, New York; grandfather to Melissa, Maryann, Devin, Dylan, Kady and great grandfather to Kohen. He is also survived by one sister Judy (Ed) Shust, Ontario, and a family friend Anna Chisholm. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Barbara and son Stephen. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00pm from the Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Don Moses officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Barbara and son Stephen following the service in the Brooklyn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Tri County VON, Pleasant Lake Baptist Church or Brooklyn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s funeral home, Yarmouth.
