A woman was tied up and had a gun pointed at her during a home invasion in Colchester County late Friday night.

RCMP say three men smashed the patio door of a home on Mines Bass River Rd. in Montrose just after 10:30 p.m.

A woman was home alone at the time. Police say the suspects pointed long guns at her, demanded she drop to the floor and then tied up her wrists with zip ties. She wasn't hurt in the incident.

The home was ransacked.

Some cannabis, five long guns and two handguns were stolen. One of the handguns has the firing pin removed and the other is a muzzleloader.

Police do not believe this was a random act.

The suspects were last seen in a vehicle heading towards Bass River.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Colchester District RCMP at 902-893-6824 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
