HALIFAX — Police in Halifax have stopped searching a lake for a girl who was reported missing by a bystander.
Halifax Regional Police say they didn't find her, found no evidence of foul play and note that no missing person report has been filed by a parent or guardian.
Police say even though they did not find anything in and around Kearney Lake the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier Thursday, police asked the public for information as officers searched for a girl, about five-years-old, who was reported missing from a beach.
She is described as white, under four feet tall, with a slim build and brown shoulder-length hair.
Police say the girl was last seen wearing a dark peach and maroon one-piece bathing suit, and she left behind a pair of denim shorts, a blue T-shirt with "Let's go Ninja" written on it, a pair of swim goggles and a single key.
