Tesla Model S goes airborne. Driver faces criminal charge (video)

Barrie Police say it's lucky no one was hurt

BARRIE — Surveillance cameras were rolling last night as a Tesla Model S caught some serious air on a Barrie Street.

In the video posted above, the vehicle can be seen going airborne as it hits an incline leading up to a set of railroad tracks.

Police say the electric vehicle landed more than 100 feet into the opposing lane, forcing it to skid across the roadway and hit a tree in a nearby school parking lot.

The driver and passenger were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver was charged with dangerous driving under the Criminal Code of Canada and will appear in Barrie Court in October.
