Mooseheads top Wildcats 3-2, take a 2-0 series lead

HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads are up 2-0 over the Moncton Wildcats after picking up a 3-2 win in their second round series.

Raphael Lavoie picked up where he left off in game one, scoring two goals in the first period to help give Halifax a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

Jocktan Chainey added the Herd's lead early in the second period. Mika Cyr finally responded for the Wildcats to make it a two-goal hockey game.

Aleksi Anttalainen brought the Wildcats within one early in the third period but the Mooseheads held on to secure a 3-2 win.

Game three is set to take place Tuesday at the Avenir Centre.
