Mooseheads tie up President Cup series with 5-4 double OT win over Huskies

ROUYN-NORANDA, QC. - The Halifax Mooseheads tied up the President Cup final series with a 5-4 double overtime win against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Friday night.

The Mooseheads drew first blood with Keith Getson scoring minutes into the opening frame. Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Joel Teasdale responded for the Huskies to give them a 2-1 lead.

Benoit Olivier-Groulx eventually tied things up to make it 2-2 heading into the second period.

Arnaud Durandeau helped Halifax retake the lead early in the second but Noah Dobson and Felix Bibeaus scored back-to-back to give Rouyn-Noranda a 4-3 lead.

Raphael Lavoie tied things up early in the third to force overtime where neither team managed to score, resulting double OT.

Groulx eventually ended it with his second of the night to tie the series up at 1-1.

Both teams will head to the Scotiabank Centre on Monday for game three.
