HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads picked up their seventh straight win Saturday night, defeating the Charlottetown Islanders 6-2 at the Scotiabank Centre.

Arnaud Durandeau scored midway through the opening frame to put the Herd up 1-0 after 20 minutes.

The Mooseheads dominated the second period, with Jordan Maher scoring twice while Jake Ryczek and Walter Flower each found the back of Charlottetown's net to make it 5-0.

Daniel Hardie eventually put the Islanders on the board early in the final frame with Samuel Asselin responding shortly after.

Keith Getson scored one more for the Islanders but it wasn't enough as the Herd held on to win 6-2.

The Herd will be off for Christmas break and will return to action on Dec. 28 when they take on Islanders again.
