The Mooseheads drew first blood as Raphael Lavoie gave the Herd an early 1-0 lead. Samuel Dickner tied things up for the Remparts minutes later.

After that, the Mooseheads took over as Antoine Morand and Keith Getson extended the Herd's lead to 3-1 heading into the third.

Samuel Asselin added to their lead 26 seconds into the final period. Lavoie scored his second of the evening on an empty Quebec net to make it 5-1 Halifax.
