HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a lopsided 8-2 victory over the Sherbrooke Phoenix Friday night at the Scotiabank Centre.

Samuel Poulin put the Phoenix on the board first on a power play but Samuel Asselin and Justin Barron responded putting the Herd up 2-1 heading into the second period.

The second period was all Halifax as Asselin, Raphael Lavoie, Arnaud Durandeau and Xavier Parent extended the Herd's lead to 6-1.

Asselin completed the hat trick early in the final period with Keith Getson adding another minutes later.

Michael Kemp added one more for the Phoenix but it wasn't enough as Halifax walked away with an 8-2 win.

The Mooseheads head to Cape Breton on Saturday to take on the Screaming Eagles.
