Mooseheads dominate Oceanic 6-3

HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a dominant 6-3 victory over the Rimouski Oceanic Friday night.

The first period saw Justin Barron and Raphael Lavoie scoring two quick goals to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Lavoie followed up with his second of the evening early in the second period. Antoine Morand and Joel Bishop followed up while Rimouski's Olivier Garneau answered with one of his own to make it 5-1 Halifax after two periods.

Arnaud Durandeau extended the Herd's lead early in the third.

Rimouski responded with two more goals but it wasn't enough as the Mooseheads held on to win 6-3.

On Saturday, the Mooseheads welcome the Quebec Remparts to the Scotiabank Centre.
