Mooseheads advance to next round of playoffs with 4-0 shut out win over Drakkar

The Mooseheads are moving onto the second round of the QMJHL playoffs for the first time since 2015

BAIE-COMEAU, QC. - The Halifax Mooseheads are moving onto the next round of the QMJHL playoffs after blanking the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 4-0 Friday night, taking the series 4-1.

Jocktan Chainey opened up the scoring early in the first with his second goal of the playoffs, giving Halifax a 1-0 lead.

Connor Moynihan followed up near the midway point of the second period with Arnaud Durandeau netting his fourth playoff goal minutes later to make it 3-0 Halifax.

Durandeau would strike again in the final period, getting it between the pipes to seal the deal, making it a 4-0 final in favour of the Herd.

Halifax's Alexis Gravel had a stellar performance as he made 41 saves.

The Mooseheads will now advance to the next round of the playoffs against an opponent that's yet to be determined.
