If you're waiting for a delivery, it probably isn't going to come today.

Due to the heavy rainfall and strong winds, Canada Post has issued a red service alert for metro Halifax.

That means the delivery of mail has been suspended for the day.

Service will resume when it's safe to do so.

Southwest Nova Scotia is also under a red service alert.

Central Nova Scotia and Cape Breton are under a yellow alert, which means Canada Post will try to deliver mail, but there may be some delays.
